High Performance, High Reliability Polymer Additive Manufacturing
OPM has developed a variety of materials and processes for producing heavily qualified components using laser powder bed fusion for applications spanning permanent human orthopedic & implants thru manned spacecraft critical systems. These include a statistical process basis (MIL17 B-Basis), materials and processes for powder bed fusion of high temperature thermoplastics (notably PEKK), methods and equipment for inspecting irregular surfaces and statistically comparing to origin files, post-processing approaches providing both decorative and functional / structural augmentation. All these processes are open-ended with clear pathways to extend capacity and capability both.
